Oil & Gas Pipeline Projects
Project: PG&E 20" Gas Transmission Line, Milpitas, CA
Conditions: substrate to be protected has a failed asphaltic coating that could not be completely removed without sandblasting
Objective: Provide permanent corrosion protection with minimal surface preparation and no VOC'S over failing asphalt coating
Solution: STACprime, STACwrap, StacGuard
Project: PG&E 36" Gas Transmission Line, Corning, CA
Conditions: Job permit allowed 1 day for excavation, repair and backfill. The 36" gas line at river crossing had cementious coating eroded off as a result of sand filled rushing water.
Objective: Provide permanent corrosion protection with minimal surface preparation to protect from debris dropping into river. Final objective was to encase pipe with a “bulletproof" protective topcoat.
Solution: STACprime, STACwrap, 4" X 50' Rolls of Syntho-Glass
Project: Bridge Mounted Gas Line, Cottonwood, CA
Conditions: externally corroded 150' 6" gas pipe abutting sun-exposed side of bridge.
Objective: provided permanent corrosion protection with minimal service preparation to eliminate contaminants dropping below into water, while protecting line from strong UV exposure
Solution: STACprime, STACwrap, HI-UV resistant TeK-Rap PE Tape
Project: Contra Costa Power Plant, Antioch Terminal and Gas Transmission Line
Conditions: Gas Transmission pipeline installed 10' below grade, in upright position
Objective: to avoid coal tar epoxy requiring clean-up in environmental sensitive space, and to eliminate potential of release of VOC, while assuring minimal delay waiting curing before backfill can begin.
Solution: STACprime, STACfill applied to fill voids around flange bolts prior to wrapping with 2" STACwrap. Tools required to perform job: wire brush to clean pipe and scissions to cut tape. Time required, including bring 10' riser to surface: 1 hour, 45 minutes.
